Toffee Sauce recipe

You can use this toffee sauce for anything from adorning waffles to chocolate puddings. It's super easy and can also be stored for around two weeks.


300g golden syrup
250g single cream
175g brown sugar
110g butter
110g white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract


1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and then add the sugars, syrup and vanilla extract.

2. Simmer this mixture for around five minutes.

3. Remove this from the heat and leave to cool for one or two minutes.

4. Add the cream and stir well.

5. Return to the heat for one to two minutes and then serve.
